Hello Arrowmen!

I hope this letter finds you well! My name is Lily Matthews, I am an Eagle Scout from Troop 7253 in Kent Ohio, and your 2024 Lodge Chief. This year is the 85th anniversary of Marnoc Lodges’ charter in 1939. This year helps us to reflect on our past, but also look towards the future of this organization. As I look towards the future it makes me excited to meet new people, strengthen our order, and give some cheerful service. This year, there are so many amazing opportunities to celebrate our lodge, make new friends, and most importantly have fun!

For the first time in seven years, Marnoc Lodge will host section E13 Conclave! At Camp Manatoc from May 17-19, you will have the opportunity to find your groove, we will have live music from local bands. Along with having program areas like shooting sports and the climbing tower open. This is an opportunity to share Camp Manatoc with Arrowmen from 8 other lodges spanning Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, and Kentucky. Registration is up now and the late fee goes into effect May 3rd, so register now! and please select the Marnoc delegate option to have access to purchase a special event lodge flap. I cannot wait to see you at section E13 Conclave! 

The endless opportunities don’t stop here! Also at Camp Manatoc from May 31st to June 2nd, we will be having our Summer Fellowship and Induction Weekend. Immerse yourself in a Jurassic Age theme with activities, training, service, and so much more! There will be an opportunity to seal your membership with Brotherhood on Friday night, and you can register for that right now through your member portal! Registration for the fellowship will be up soon, so stay on the lookout for that notification!

Are you excited for Summer camp? Because so am I! This year at Camp Manatoc we will have so many amazing opportunities for Arrowmen, candidates, and more! these include:

• OA 101 sessions (Monday 3:30 - 4:15 & Tuesday 3:45 - 4:30)

• Cheerful Service! (Tuesday 2:30 - 3:30 - Meet at BV cabin)

• Brotherhood Activities/Team Building (Tuesday Night 7:30 - 9:00)

• Brotherhood Review session (Wednesday Lunch)

• Callout Ceremony (Wednesday 6:30)

• Ice Cream Fellowship (Wednesday 7:00)

• Cheerful Service (Thursday 2:30 - 4:30 - Meet at Nature Lodge)

• TBA Training Opportunity (Friday 2:30 - 3:30)

I also want to make sure everyone gets a chance to let me know what they want to see and do this summer, so please fill out this form to help me figure out what you want to do at summer camp!

This summer also includes the highlight of the Order of The Arrow program: NOAC or the National Order of the Arrow conference. In Boulder Colorado from July 29 - August 3rd NOAC offers so many different unique activities, and training opportunities, and is a great place to meet so many new people from across the country, although in-person NOAC is sold out, the registration for virtual NOAC is up now! This gives you access to just as many Arrowmen along with special activities and training right from your home! Visit oa-bsa.org to learn more!

To cap off this summer, we will be at Camp Stambaugh for the summer fellowship and induction weekend! This final event of our summer will great opportunities for cheerful service, fellowship, training, and so much more. This will be our final ordeal for 2024, and probably one of our largest classes of the year, so join us and help welcome all of our new members! Registration will be up soon, and we will be sure to notify you when it is!

Finally, be on the lookout for service days on the lodge and council calendar. These opportunities help us give back to our camps, there will be service days offered at all three camps, and we must give back to all of our camps so that they can continue to be used for years to come!
